Haven’t read in a few days and don’t really feel the want to. Returned library audiobook & sold physical copy at half priced books.

DNF page 62. What the fuck. This is awful.

Um?? Trigger warning for bullying?

Hate the main character, who is the bully (along with her friends) but acts holier–than–thou about it even after she majorly fucks up, and the plot is very convenient in ways that make no sense. Even worse, she's bullying this girl to "save her" from being introverted and quiet. The adults don't act like adult at all and just turn an blind eye to everything that's happening. If my dad let my bully into my room and get all up in my business while I'm in the hospital from an injury I got from said bully, I would strangle him :)

Sometimes there is nothing to fix to make yourself feel better about yourself and the best you can do is just leave the person you've wronged FINALLY ALONE instead of inserting yourself even more into their life against their will, and that is the case here.

I don't care if they fall in love later, I'm not on board with this lazy bully romance, of which there was absolutely no mention of in the description at all. Which is so upsetting.

How is this written by the same person that did "The Wicker King"?? I am speechless and disappointed.

This book wasn't bad and it wasn't bad but just disappointing and left a lot to be desired. I felt like everything was half baked and the ending did not make too much sense. Also, I think that it jumped and forced things to happen as the author needed to move on. Cute but if you're looking for a gay space book, go with The Gravity of Us before this one.

I really struggled with the start of the book, but last night I had to return it to the library and I wanted to finish it for book club. It turned out better than I was expecting, but still, I don't think this captured me as much as I was hoping. The "chapter" breaks (9 minutes; 3 days; 2 weeks, etc.) were REALLY annoying me at first until I just started ignoring them (9 minutes from WHAT??). The ending was fairly sweet but seemed very far-fetched and I didn't really agree with Ryann's decision
Spoiler to go to space. Yeah, yeah, she wanted to, but we just got these messages from Alexandria's mom who seriously began to REGRET going to space with no way to return. And under "19 years later" Ryann never had an option to return either, so...yay let's go to space and just leave your brother and nephew and new girlfriend? I guess books being my passion and never requiring me to leave my family makes this kind of choice very foreign to me, because I definitely would never have done that
. As many have said, the author's note IS very nice, and made me feel a bit more charitable towards the book, overall, than I may have initially felt.
