Sister, Sister" by Eric Jerome Dickey is a thrilling and captivating read! The drama and excitement in the lives of Valerie, Inda, and Chiquita as they navigate love and relationships in Los Angeles. The book portrays the challenges these women face and how they may have to adapt their dreams while still embracing the future.

Eric Jerome Dickey never missed and this was one of those examples of a hit. I read this book when I was in high school and reread as a bookclub pick. I am a different reader now than I was in high school so I was afraid I would be really disappointed in the reread and that it would take away from it being the very group of books that made me fall in love with reading but thank God it still was a really good read. EJD's storytelling is amazing and the narrators for the audible were great. I enjoyed this reread. It may not have been off the charts for me as it was the I was 17 years old but it is still a great book on sisterhood and support.

Listened to the audiobook and it was so fun. Like a 90s rom com.

Ready for another one

Second read by this author and I’m already ready for the next. He’s got an awesome way of keeping you locked in and making you want more. The characters are so realistic and entertaining and the details about the setting and the way everything ties together is at times shocking.

This was a very good book. I listened to the audiobook. I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the lives of Chiquita, Inda and Valerie. These were three very different women with relationship issues going on. It amazed me how the friendship between Inda and Chiquita started and blossomed. I keep hearing about these relationships in books, but never in real life. Sounds like a question I need to pose on fb. LOL. The brotherly and sisterly relationship between Inda, Valerie, and "Brown" was beautiful. I laughed many times, I got teary eyed, I smiled....... I love it when a book can make you have so many emotions. Eric Jerome Dickey is a great storyteller. I highly recommend to others.

Rereading EJD now that I’m an adult and understand the life of a grown woman. EJD is amazing at writing from a Black woman perspective that I don’t think many (or any) male authors can accomplish. It takes place in the 90’s but this story  still resonates to how woman build new relations today. Looking forward to rediscovering his work.
