Magnolia and BJ ARE the invisible string theory. No matter how many times they hurt each other, they always ended up back together.
And even though Magnolia did find out at the end that the girl BJ cheated on her with was in fact her best friend, I still believe that they will be together no matter what.

I’m not entirely sure why I put myself through this. I don’t usually read romance-focused novels. And yet, I did: I followed two self-absorbed, egocentric characters as they kept falling into the same toxic patterns over and over again. As a Young Adult book, it probably works well. But once you’re a bit older, it all just feels a bit overly dramatic.

This was the Monica/Chandler/Richard arc from Friends if Monica was more annoying, Chandler had a LOT more sex and cocaine and is about as likable as Ross, and Richard was still the best of the three. And somehow, all the other friends are inexplicably in love with Monica too. This is also book Blair Waldorf’s relationship every relationship. Mostly with Nate Archibald though. Maybe some TV Chuck and Blair.

So, basically, I couldn’t put it down and also hated myself for that fact…pretty much how Magnolia must feel about BJ is how I feel about this book. It’s a train wreck, and everyone but Tom England, Henry Ballantine, and Bridget Parks is super shitty but I would probably re-read the hell out of this.

Unbelievably toxic but that’s exactly what gets you hooked. Emotional rollercoaster for the head and the heart, super frustrating a lot of the time and I can see why some people would dislike it as a result but I loved it !
