BookTok misled me. This wasn't a book for me. I didn't like the characters and I didn't like the relationships. I kept hoping it would get better.

this book is perfect if you just want something fun to read. i genuinely don’t remember the last time i had this much fun with a book, the kind of fun where you actually laugh out loud and have to pause because the drama is too ridiculous. everyone calls this gossip girl set in the uk and honestly, that is the most accurate description possible. every guy in this book enters a scene with “oy” for some reason? every rich london socialite is somehow entangled in the most absurd love triangles, and magnolia, our fmc seems to have no real responsibilities other than memorizing designer collections like it is a full-time job. the second she sees someone, she scans them like a fashion police robot. “red gucci floral top from spring summer 19, chanel flats from 2015, a hair accessory i don’t recognize so it must not be designer. i’m better than her. she wears old items.” this happens constantly.

on top of that, there were a few moments where designer names were misspelled, which was actually so frustrating because it made me second-guess myself. i had to stop reading just to check if i had been spelling the brand wrong my entire life. also, every single high society boy in london seems to be obsessed with magnolia for absolutely no reason. i kept waiting for an explanation, but there is none. btw if you genuinely ship her with bj, not just in an ironic way but seriously, i have to ask, are you okay?
