I had to read a children's book that I'd never read for one of my challenges this year. I remembered the Pippi movies from rainy day activities at summer camp but I'd never read any of the books. The library didn't have the first one so I got this one instead.

Pippi is the strongest and most independent little girl in the world. She does whatever she wants. She's funny and kind but can be very rude. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I was in the right age range. I can see where little kids would love Pippi and take her as a role model.

Hurrah for Pippi, she is the best. And now she saves young school goers from pink underwear and takes Tommy and Annika off to recuperate in the sun of the southern seas where her father is King

I think this was the best Pippi book of the series, or at least my favorite one. This had more action and adventure of Pippi, Tommy and Annika in the South Sea and less of long-winded descriptions of Pippi's fanciful lies. I wasn't a fan of Pippi in the first two books as my daughter was. Pippi now has a place in my heart.

I'm sorry we're done with the Pippi books, because Charlotte loved them all very much. Maybe we'll revisit them in the future?

What I hoped would be a good story to read, was really disappointing. In my memory Pippi was funny and cheeky, in this book she came of as arrogant and smart Aleck. The stories were short and easy to read. Wished it would have been more funny. A shame!
