Ah... akhirnya hangover yang kualami setelah membaca Lovely Heist berlalu juga. Dan sepertinya aku terbalik dalam urutan membacanya. I should have read this first.
Baru pertama kali ini aku membaca buku yang karakternya merupakan pengidap agoraphobia. Dan... kurasa penyampaiannya cukup bagus. Ngeri juga euy kalau punya fobia begitu. Menurutku, Ibu Tessa dan Scott agak menyebalkan juga, ya. Mereka nggak mengalami hal mengerikan yang dialami Tessa, mereka nggak mengidap fobia itu, dan mereka nggak tahu rasanya bagaimana jadi Tessa, tapi mereka seolah memaksakan keinginan mereka. Dealing with a horrible thing will never be easy.
Tentang hubungan Eric-Tessa... yah, sedikit kurang realistis aja sih menurutku. Makin ke akhir, entah kenapa si Eric jadi kelihatan rada halu juga. XD Tapi nggak apa-apa, deh, mereka manis banget kok. Porsi romens-nya agak sedikit terlalu banyak, tapi bukan jenis yang bikin eneg bagi orang-orang yang bukan penggemar romens unyu-unyu ala-ala Wattpad (iya, ini novel jebolan Wattpad).
But the ending thoooo! Ah, sial, saya nggak bisa move on nih :( Berdoa ajalah biar buku ini banyak yang suka, jadi Spring bisa nerjemahin seri keduanya. Mahal euy, kalau beli yang versi Inggris. And please, don't leave me hanging like this :(

Karena temanya yang lumayan depressing, bikin deg-degan sekaligus frustrasi, dan the damned cliffhanger. This book was confusing at best. It felt like I was reading a Wattpad story and I was not a fan.

Romantické YA knihy v poslední době moc nečtu, mívám trochu problém zkousnout tu sebestřednost a definitivní tragičnost problémů náctiletých. Většina postav mi pak, neskutečně leze na nervy. Po této knize jsem tedy, sáhla tak trochu omylem, který, jakmile jsem si ho uvědomila, jsem si také patřičně vyčítala. Ale co, stalo se, knihu jsem rozečetla a jelikož se snažím knihy dočítat a neodkládat, dala jsem jí šanci.
Téma je to zajímavé, myšlenka dobrá, určitě není na škodu zamyslet se nad riziky, která nám virtuální komunikace a sdílení vlastních životů, přináší. Kniha se četla dobře, stránky ubíhaly a příběh byl, poměrně zajímavým. Už jen tím, jak se běžná konverzace střídala, se záznamy z výslechů. Myslím, že to byl hlavní prvek, díky kterému si kniha udržela, moji plnou pozornost. A i když jsem tušila, kam to vše směřuje (tedy až na závěrečný zvrat), vlastně mi to ani nijak nevadilo. Ne, že bych neměla knize co vytknout, na druhou stranu, možná proto, že se jedná o YA a ne plnohodnotný thriller, toho daleko víc odpustím. Přečtení dalšího dílu, rozhodně zvážím. Už jen proto, že mě autorka způsobem, jakým píše, rozhodně mile překvapila.
