I’ll admit I wasn’t the biggest Peyton fan and really only followed Sophia Bush from the show. But sometimes a book knows when you need to read (or in my case, listen) to it.

Hilarie did an absolute gorgeous job in this book that reaches in and touches your heart. Hearing her story made me feel seen in a way I haven’t previously and it made me want to reach through the book and hug her and thank her for being so open and honest with her frustrations, grief, and joy

This book was wonderful. I grew up with One Tree Hill, and reading Hilarie's put entirely different perspective on those years. She shares her joy, her pain, her life, and her healing in this book, and I related to her on a soul deep level. The book is written like a free-flowing conversation, and it gripped me from page one. It's definitely one of my favorite memoirs ever.

It took me a bit to get into this book which I was surprised about considering how much I adore OTH. It’s different than what I expected and she truly is a farm girl and discusses that part of her life in death.
I loved learning about Samuels and her work with the Astor Foundation - definitely my favorite stories in the book.
Her recounting of her infertility struggles hit home for me and she articulated very well feelings I have had.
An excellent read into her life after OTH and deeply dives into her relationship with Jeffrey. I appreciated her honesty that relationships are difficult and life isn’t easy for anyone, celebrity or not.

I am not sure exactly what it was about this book but I truly loved it! It brought me joy, sadness, and peace, sometimes all at the same time. I truly can't put my finger on it but it is one of the best memoire books!  It was like if you could read the best hug you have ever been given. Hilarie is a great storyteller.
