Oh this was fun! Lettle is my favorite character. I wish there was more magic. I mean like more to it. But this was fun to read!

This was an easy 5 stars from me, I absolutely loved Faebound, the only downside is I now have to wait for the next book to be released before I can get my hands on it.

We follow the story of Yeeran, who is a warrior in the elven army, Yeeran was born on the battlefield and has known violence all her life and knew she would die on the battlefield. Her Sister, Lettle, is trying to make it as a diviner, seeking prophecies of a better future. Then a fatal mistake leads to Yeeran's exile from the Elven Lands, with Lettle going after her sister with Rayan following after her, with a promise he made to Yeeran to protect her sister.

Soon both sisters and Rayan are forced into the terrifying wilderness beyond their borders and there they encounter the impossible: The Fae Court. The fae haven't been seen for a millennium due to a curse, but now the sisters and Rayan are thrust into their seductive world with their loyalty to each other, elven homeland and their hearts when things start to get very interesting for Yeeran, Lettle and Rayan.

This was beautifully written which made reading it so easy as well as easy to follow what was going on, there were a range of different cultures, backgrounds and sexuality being showcased, as well as disabilities. I was hooked from the first sentence and will be eagerly awaiting the next book. This so far is one of my best fantasy reads of 2024 for myself.

Forever the war will rage, until united, the three shall die.
Humans made low, then fae made lower,
Then elves in ignorance, gone is their power,
Cursed to endure, cursed to survive.
All shall perish lest all three thrive.

I didn't like it.

I didn't care about any of the characters. They were bland and one-dimensional.
Both romances were really badly written - there was no real chemistry between any of them and it was 0 to 100 within few chapters making absolutely no sense at all. Romance was truly the worst part of this book.
The plot? Boring and barely there. I honestly have nothing else to say about it because there was nothing in the book 😭
I would say the world building had potential but it was also really underdeveloped so here we are!

I was expecting adult fantasy but it felt so much like YA. Probably because main characters felt like annoying teenagers and not adults with fully developed brain.

I honestly didn't know what I was expecting but it sounded promising and I wanted something to help with my slowing reading this time of the year but it just made my commuting to work less enjoyable and sometimes I preferred to look out the window for the whole ride instead of picking this book.

It definitely wasn't for me.

I absolutely loved this book. The world building was breathtaking. The characters, weren't perfect, but definitely loveable and have plenty of room to grow.

The insta-love, just wasn't doing much for me, on either end. And at times, the writing felt a bit underwhelming, particularly when Yeeran was speaking with Pila.

But ultimately, I truly am excited for the sequel announcement and the following announcement from fairyloot.
