I have loved all of the snippets of Rachel we got in the earlier books and was thrilled when I saw that Rachel was getting a book! Rachel is my soul sister. I adore her strength and quick wit.

Phoebe is a master at developing these spaces she places her characters in and being able to describe them in such a way that you are transported into the room with them. The Lodge WOW! What or who do I have to do to get an invite to that place!

I love that sexuality is interwoven in a way that it is not “taboo”. It’s discussed frankly and honestly between the characters. The interactions between Rachel and Jake, her husband for me seemed like a realistic depiction of a loving relationship. I liked that there were convos Rachel had with him where his tone or answer was not all butterfly and rainbows it was real. They had very real and honest conversations and worked together.

Now the connection Rachel has with Connor was fun! There was heat and sparks. It was two people that were feeling things but fighting those feels which pulled each of them off center. It was fun to watch and even more fun to see all work out.
