Before I read this book I didn’t have high expectations of it. I mean, I didn’t even know what the plot is about since I bough it because of its high ratings and I saw it a lot on instagram. But after I started the first couple of pages I was totally amazed!
The plot and the events are so attaching and I couldn’t put this book down! The characters were absolutely beautiful and greatly written, specially Alina. I could feel everything that she had felt as if I were her. I also loved the Darkling, I knew at some point he was going to be the villain but I didn’t know when and I was shocked! Even when he tured villain, I still loved him.
I loved his character more than Mal’s. What pissed me off the most about Mal was the first conversation than went between him and Alina after the Darkling took her. I know he didn’t like it that she was happy with the Darkling but it is not fair to talk to here in this way!
As for Genya, I wonder what she holds for us in the next books, and I hope that it’s something great because I really liked her.
I hope the next books is as great as this one!

This was a nice and easy to read YA fantasy book . I am not sure why it gets so much hate. The world building was great. Everything flowed so naturally. Which is why I read it so quickly. I thought I wouldn’t enjoy it as much because I’ve watched the show twice already, but I still loved it. DEVOUREDDDD IT. The writing was amazing. Can’t wait to read more books from this author!

Hace como un año vi el primer capítulo de la serie en Netflix y me di cuenta que necesitaba leer el libro.
La verdad es que de las mejores decisiones que tomé en la vida, porque anoche terminé este libro (en 4 días, con poco tiempo para leer) y me encantó.
Creo que el Universo que creó Leigh Bardugo para esta novela fue increíble. Muy rico, lleno de capas y muy bien organizado. En ningún momento sentí que había algo del worldbuilding que no me hubiese cerrado.
Los peresonajes, por más de que son muchos, van siendo insertados en la novela de tal forma que incluso si no te acordás el nombre, sabés de quién se está hablando. Eso habla mucho de la habilidad y de la pluma de la autora. Además, una empatiza rápido y eso me encantó.
AHORA... hay ciertas cositas que no funcionaron y me hacen sacarle una estrella.
1 | No explica bien el mundo al inicio. Te mete tan de lleno en los minutos antes del caos que una se pierde. Son demasiados Grisha, demasiados colores y combinaciones de colores en sus uniformes. Eso me perdió.
2 | Creo que abusó un montón con la nimiedad que se siente Alina. Usa una metáfora sobre cómo un coche Grisha casi la mata y ahora ella está viajando en uno. La primera vez fue interesante, me gustó. Pero siento que abusó un poco recordándonos esto a cada rato.
3 | Siento que el avance de la novela fue tratado desde el romance, cuando debería haber sido desde el poder de Alina y la estrategia de guerra del país y las personas que están en el poder.
Siento que la trama avanzaba cuando ella se relacionaba con X personajes de manera romántica o cuando sus sentimientos estaban confundidos/heridos.
Me hubiese gustado sentir el avance desde lo político, pero eso ya es gusto propio.
En general, es una novela que me encantó y pienso terminar de leer la trilogía.

Das sind ziemlich nett gemeinte 3Sterne..
Ich bin wahrscheinlich die letzte auf dem Planeten, die dieses Buch bzw. die Reihe noch nicht gelesen hat, aber here we are.
First things first: Egal wie oft es erwähnt und getrunken wird: Kvas schmeckt nicht.
Bin tbh etwas enttäuscht.
Habe das Gefühl mir wurde nichts erklärt. Like..basically gar nichts. Das Buch hat sich auch teilweise gelesen, als ob Abschnitte gefehlt haben.
Alina fand ich irgendwie meh. Gemocht habe ich sie nicht, aber sie hat auch nicht so sehr genervt, dass ich sie gehasst habe.
Was mich allerdings genervt hat, war die Tatsache, dass mit keinem Wort erwähnt wurde, warum die Grisha "Grisha" heißen...
Die Lovestory zwischen Mal und Alina war auch eher..solala.
Fragwürdig.
Wie basically das ganze Buch.
Ich bin mittlerweile mitten im zweiten Band und es ist eeeeeetwas besser als Teil 1. Mal gucken wie lange das noch bleibt.
Den Hype kann ich allerdings (noch) nicht wirklich verstehen.

Rich and haunting
I began my journey in the wrong order having read 6 of crows and crooked kingdom 1st. Now going back to the beginning where I should have began I am awe struck and the beautiful rich tear of ping world that she has created it This is taking me to 2 days to read my second.
