I still liked the story in this book but felt that it was still underdeveloped as things happened out of nowhere and people just came and went. For example, Jessa’s parents couldn’t come with Jessa to the sanctuary as they had a lot of responsibilities but then in the middle of the book they just appear and stay for a while. Also, Jessa’s dad was an alpha which meant that he was the leader of a pack but you never actually see any sort of pack members which I found disappointing.
I didn’t like how quickly everything happened in this book and that there wasn’t much shown about the side characters as sure they were shown, mostly the Compasses, but they were all sort of fading into the background and only became clear characters when they had to say something.
Maximus found his mate and so did Tyson but they weren’t really shown. I wanted to see more of the mates (Cordia and Grace) but I was also a bit scared to see how the mates will change the pack dynamic as I liked how Jessa interacted with the Compasses.
Mischa was still too stupid to live and I didn’t understand how everyone put up with her, especially after some of the last scenes. I hope that if she is forgiven (I’m not sure if she deserves it), it won’t be easily and that she will stay on the outside of the pack for a while as obviously she can’t be trusted.
I really liked that the last chapter was from Braxton’s POV and I hope that the next book will have more chapters like this one.

Loved it.
I don't really know what to say. Read this book in one sitting and didn't want it to end. This book picks up where the first book left offs and the action. We follow Jessa, the quads, and her sister as they find out more about the dragon marked. I like how Eve is expanding their world by sending the characters to new places and meeting new creatures.
I cannot wait to read the third book in the series.

Great ending and love the romance. It is more adventure than romance which is a nice change from my usual taste in books. I definitely recommend because the book breaks and heals your heart all at once!

I. LOVE. IT!
I. SHIP. IT!
I. NEED. MORE!
OMG... THESE BOYS!!
WTF IS HAPPENING?
YESS. YESS. YASSS!
NO. NO. NOOO!
I NEED SOMEONE TO KILL RN!
These were my thoughts while reading this book. It was such a rollercoaster! I absolutely loved it.
The characters are amazing (although I was very tempted to give one a beating near the end) and their chemistry is just... This is one of the books where the characters make up most of what is to love.
I love the Compasses and I really need one (or all) for myself! They are so loveable and sweet but still super powerful, they can be super serious but also very funny.
The other characters aren't far behind, and Jessa is the spotlight here lol, but the Compasses have some big personalities...
I saw where this story was going very quickly, but there were still some twists that shocked me. I thank my friend for introducing me to this series because it is seriously awesome.
I love how it played out and I can't wait to start the last book!

3.5 stars
Holy crap, what an eventful ending. I called most of it, but it all came together at once and smacked me in the face.
Also, it must be noted that Mischa is a fucking idiot.
Random thought: What about Nash? Did he get to the sanctuary in time?

Jessa, her newly discovered sister Mischa, and her four gorgeous best friends, are all on their way to Romania. They have to escape the powerful dragon-hunters, and they have to learn more about the mysterious dragon-marked.
This kicks off where Dragon Marked left us (clickee here for my review). Jessa is on the run from the dragon-hunters - the original quads, who are very old, and very powerful. In tow, she has pack and her sister, none of which would leave her side, even if there was a choice.
The world that Eve has created just keeps getting bigger, and more complex, building on what you know from the first book in the series. There's the history of the dragon-marked, and the introduction of the dying fae realm.
There's also the developing relationships. Mainly between Jessa and Braxton, as she finally stops fighting the fact that she wants to be with him. But also her sister Mischa, finding her place in the group dynamics; and Max's mate - I did not see that one coming!
I also like how there's a symmetry between the old quads and dragon-twins, and the new. There are surprising new power reveals for all our main characters, as they embrace their birthright, whilst still fighting the roles that people are trying to pin on them.
So why only the four stars, when Dragon Marked got the full five?
Dragon Mystics is a good book by any standard, but it just didn't captivate me as much as the first.
On a small note, I felt that it wasn't as smooth relaying some information. I don't know whether Eve changed track between writing book 1 and 2, but there were parts were there was a rush to explain something, and you obviously know it's gonna play a part. Like introducing Sirens; the two-mate story from the guys' mother. There are things that Jessa doesn't know, or the brothers have been withholding from her; which clashes with... well let's just say, Jessa doesn't strike me as the type of girl to not know stuff, and she's not afraid of kicking the arse of anyone who keeps a secret from her.
The second thing that annoyed me was how obsessed Jessa was with Braxton.
And I know, some of you are going to be shouting at me that this is a Paranormal Romance, and that Jessa and Braxton are trying to come to terms with the sudden rush of many feelings and physical needs.
Every reader has a different romance level, and while some will be going boz-eyed with pleasure, most of you won't be surprised that I don't have a romantic bone in my body. Dragon Marked just worked - it perfectly balanced the adventure and sexiness.
In Dragon Mystics, there are solid chunks where the adventure is put on a back burner, so Jessa can concentrate of the important task of jumping Braxton's bones (and everything else anatomical).
Anyway, it is still a very good series, and I'm definitely continuing with it!
