The textures of Simon’s artwork! The funny asides of Simone! The quick story and fallibility! And the 18th and 19th century philosophers and feminist theory is really strong. Little books packing big punches.

I think I missed something in this one or something was lost in translation, I just did not click with this story at all. The art is quite nice though, especially the costumes which look great and consistently detailed. It's just, kind of a bummer of a book honestly, with a weird protagonist who gets some bad turns early on and is constantly a jerk afterwards. Not my favorite.

I picked this up at Vault of Midnight 100% based on the artwork- Lisa Hanawalt meets Edward Gorey. I enjoyed the story too, although the translation was ever so slightly clunky. Good times.
