These are three great short stories, that uses the "quarantine at home" we're all experiencing to great effect. The first story is the best one - absolutely hilarious, and the audiobook reader does an excellent job. I loved the last one too - it had definite Rear Window vibes... This is a great way to spend your afternoon - listening to 3 great mysteries by a master.

This is a departure from my usual genre preference. This collection was written and recorded at the beginning of the pandemic, in April 2020 and it kind of shows in the most hilarious way. Despite all the stories being macabre and tragic, there's still an ongoing theme of all the POV characters thinking the pandemic is going to end "soon" and things will eventually Return to Normal. LOL, those poor dumb babies had no idea.

All of the POV characters are unreliable narrators (either because they don't have enough information or because they are deluding themselves), which always both amuses and frustrates me.

I really enjoyed the short nature of the stories, and the more unusual situations were an interesting surprise. They did all end on a bit of an odd note that left me wondering.

It's three short stories set during the current pandemic where we're all stuck inside, and having meetings over zoom, and waiting for life to go back to some kind of normalcy. So each one gets a different rating
1. Stop Motion: 5/5 - this is a about a woman who has taken to watching her neighbors and realizes that she hasn't seen one half of the couple in a few days but the other one is going in and out all the time with pastry boxes. She's convinced the person was murdered but her ex, whos living with her #thankscovid, doesn't agree
2. The Crimson Parrot 5/5 - Thieves had a big plan to steal the crimson parrot from someone and make millions but due to covid their plans got ruined, so they're making new plans over Zoom. And as a millennial with older co-workers, every scene where the leader has to help his cohorts figure out how to unmute, and move their face from the camera, etc hit home.
3. The Cap House 3/5 - I couldn't get into this one and gave up

This book is three extremely short stories that take place around the pandemic.

Take this audiobook lightly. In these crazy times where we can’t go outside, or to the grocery store without a hazmat suit, listening to similar stories of people struggling and trying to function as best they can, these three were pure entertainment. They were all great in their own way.

The first one was funny, the second was a little sinister, and the third was surprisingly disturbing. They all gave just enough. The narration performances were great. A nice, free little gem. Thanks Audible!

I've recently been looking for stories about the pandemic, so the premise of this collection of stories was quite interesting to me. The first story was excellent, as was the reading of it. The other two stories were very mediocre. If you pick this up, stop after the first story.

Inside Jobs was filled with 3 novellas of crime. In it, you will read The Crimson Parrot, The Cape House, and Stop Motion. They all have one thing in common as well: time in quarantine.

The first book was hilarious. I mean even the synopsis made me snort because of the whole gang working from home situation. Then there's the second book, which was all about two brothers who haven't really connected in a long time. All it took was for a lovely quarantine to bring them back together. Last, but not least, the third book was about a girl who broke up with her boyfriend and he hopes she will change her mind.

Out of the three, the first book was my favorite by far. It just had so many funny moments and the narrators did a great job. The other two were still good though, don't get me wrong. I just felt like I paid more attention to the first one than the others.

Overall, these quarantine themed novellas were a nice change for me.
