Not my cup of tea. Quite funny but I don't think it has aged well. Still, every word written by Mark Twain is worth reading because he was such a funny guy.

Quirky adventures with some dark discussion of human nature

It's a bit anti-native-Americans, and misogynistic. Also anti-Catholic church. But a fun read.

I read this book as a school assignment, complete with worksheets of our thoughts and the main ideas of the book. All in all this was not as bad a book as many assigned reads, though would probably have been more enjoyable if I had been reading at my own pace, and on my own accord.

Interesting satire of both the Middle Ages and the Gilded Age. Yankee wakes up in sixth century England and immediately starts bringing modern civilization, founding first a patent office, then building telegraphs, electric lights, schools, Protestant churches, and many other things. Twain uses it to show the backwardness of the Dark Ages, but also to show the brutality of technology and how it ravages Arthur's court. Very interesting stuff.

A little overlong, but I generally like the big idea.
