I felt as if this book started EXCEPTIONALLY slow and I found that so difficult because of how unlovable the narrator comes off, but the narrator goes through so much character growth throughout the story that it makes up for how slow the beginning of the book felt.

i loved the character development and the discussions of mental health in this story. certainly didn’t expect abuse to play such a big part.

it took me about 100 pages to get into the book. i had a hard time understanding the path the author wanted us to be on. with time, i got hooked on the characters. i especially loved the friendship between eleanor and raymond. really interesting reading experience and pov.

If you're an awkward young adult who has a big heart, but struggles to connect with your peer group as well as with childhood trauma, then this is the book for you. It's the good, the bad, and the ugly of recovery and self-discovery. Minor spoiler: Eleanor has a well-deserved happy ending, one of which we all deserve. ♡

This book contains nearly every possible trigger Story Graph provides. Please read with caution!
