another charming, complex, emotional addition to the grishaverse. i may have gripes with some of the romance, or with the ending that suggested another book, but i wholly appreciate the adventure, the near-perfectly crafted plot, and the character progression :)
all hail the ravkan queen, and the fjerdan prince and princess

This is officially my third favorite Grishaverse book, I think. Crooked Kingdom and Six of Crows still take the top two slots, but I loved how this brought so many characters together. There are some great twists and you can't tell me that ending isn't hinting at something else to come. It has to be.

Even though this book is long and there is a lot going on, it doesn't feel like it. I feel like I flew through this book, as Bardugo nails the pacing and has the right mix of characters and emotions. There's so much material for the show and I can't wait to see it all unfold.

This was beautifully written, intriguing, unique, and I simply could not put it down. There were many important messages within this book. The characters were wonderfully written - filled with flaws and magic. The plot was engaging, with exciting turns at every corner. The diversity and representation in this book was incredibly well done.

me going into King of Scars: ya know, I think I grew out of the Grishaverse, I don’t think I’m gonna like this duology as much

me at the end of Rule of Wolves: what the hell, oh my god, what the duck just happened
