a fun, good read overall! definitely some dark bits, but it was interesting to get more backstory on a beloved character from the show and also see and hear her perspective on some of the events of season 2. interesting to see some of those same events through the eyes of someone who is popping into the sequel of a story that is already well under way. if the content warnings are doable for you and you like Stranger Things, i say give it a read!
Graphic: Animal cruelty and Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Violence

I enjoyed hearing Max’s backstory. It was a well-written book. I would rate it a 5 because I like the book but I don’t actually like the book because it goes into detail about the abuse Max sees in her home. I do not recommend it to anyone who does not like reading abt that stuff.

Billy and his father are very very abusive and bigoted. Be safe please, I loved this book but it is very triggering
