I also still don’t really get Enva at all. Why does she get to live. Why couldn’t she explain any of this before everyone died??
Also so many places (eg the inkridden tribune) didn’t get bombed like forest just get inside any house is better than the street
Also WHAT DID HELENA WRITE DURING THE BOMBS???
Ok I’ve gotten that off my chest. I just have so many feelings. Still a bomb ass book.
Did I love it as much as the first? I don’t think so. Am I happy I spent time reading this book? Absolutely.
I felt the romance kind of felt a bit flatter than it did in the first one and it was very much like
The politics and world building was great though and I appreciated learning more about the gods and the war and I really enjoyed Roman’s POV and the whole Dacre side of it. Very cool.
Also interesting way of doing hades and Persephone.
Rebecca I need a map and like a family tree of the gods ok.
Also so weird that both books had the same pacing. Like both books took me 100 or so pages to get into despite already being into it from the first book.

The duology of Iris and Roman, their enchanted love, and the war between magical gods continues on. In this second installment, we learn more about Dacre and Enva, the relentless gods the war started between. Their backstories unfold as it weaves itself into Roman and Iris’s tender, yet excruciating love story.
I didn’t enjoy Ruthless Vows as much as Divine Rivals, but it still gave me action, romantasy, war, world/backstory building, and complex characters. Rebecca’s writing was beautiful throughout this duology and that was enough for me to love it.
