Found this very unenjoyable - a chore to read. It is heavily focused on character, rather than plot, development. The text is cumbersome and frequently repeats itself; some chapters I felt could have had less than half the word count and still conveyed the same meaning.
It was my first attempt at a Le Carré who I'd been wanting to read for a while to try some classic espionage fiction. I wouldn't rule out reading another but would be more careful with my choice next time.
