Felt historical. I found this one to be so touching. Daniel was so considerate of others no matter their make or model. I really got sucked in.

Didn't think I'd enjoy the book as much as I did.

3.5
Enjoyable light horror story. Unique mystery with a fantastic setting. I wouldn't really even call it horror more paranormal mystery. The main character Daniel, was TSTL which was irritating. Gods you could wear a feathered suit in front of the guy, quack, kick him with your webbed feet and he's still not see the duck. How many times does a guy get educated and not get it ? So yeh I had a problem with him. Luckily the rest of the cast held up their parts. it was a fun read for October I'm glad I read it.

It wasn't a bad book necessarily, just not great. Even though there was some action in it, I still felt like it was underwhelming. I saw most of the twists coming and they didn't really seem like twists. I also thought that there were a few plot holes and questions left unanswered that I think were just forgotten about. I also didn't really understand the point in some of the side characters and thought they weren't very well-developed.
I did enjoy the mystery aspects of it, and the setting of the creepy manor. I just wish some of it would have been either drawn out a little more or revealed in a different way.

January Bonus Wheel ... Oldest on my TBR.

What I Didn’t Like:
-Some grammatical errors. Not a lot, but a few.
-Predictable. There were a few moments were I was waiting for Daniel to realize something I already knew. It left this one feeling a little similar to other stories.
-Daniel is naive. Besides being in a completely toxic relationship with his only relative, Daniel is highly susceptible to any hint of a suggestion. He also does shockingly little work as a groundskeeper.

What I Did Like:
-Not always right. I do love when a solution isn’t always right the first time. I can’t spoil anything, but this book will lead you toward one answer and then flop it in another direction. That’s always fun!
-Classic horror story vibe. Nothing overly original, but lots of things put in place to essential feel like an old school horror tale. I liked the vibe of the house and the story.

Who Should Read This One:
-If you want a fast read with a little horror vibe, this one will probably do.

My Rating: 2 Stars. For me the predictability made it a little problematic but if you really dig the vibe of the house you could feel differently.

this was good, and they are gay

3.75/5
There was a lot of development in the story, which I appreciated. There were some parts at the end that I felt were rushed and some that characters did that didn't make a lot of sense.
