This was a fun, quick, and easy read. I loved all of the characters and really believed the rumors around Craven Manor and the abandoned town. I liked that even though not everyone got to rest in peace, Daniel made eternal friends and found a place for himself. The ending was so wholesome. Definitely scary, but so wholesome🫶🏻

Creepy yet captivating! This ghost story delivers some delightful twists that kept me hooked until the unexpected ending. Kyle's character... well, let's just say he adds an interesting layer to the narrative. 😆 While it may not reach the spine-tingling heights of Coates' other works, this book still offers an enjoyable read. The first night for Daniel had me on edge, setting a wonderfully eerie tone. While it's more on the mild side of horror, it's a fast-paced and effortless read. Highly recommended for those seeking a light yet engaging horror experience.
Is this book a lenghty course on how to use the possessive form or what?

More thoughts on this are in my Darcy Coates reading vlog https://youtu.be/09wPI4fj2Mo
This is probably my least favourite Darcy I've read so far. BUT I still gave it three stars, which is amazing. I found our protagonist as little unbelievable and just couldn't get behind him. But I did enjoy the setting.
This is the most "cozy" I've read from Darcy. Which I think makes it a great place to start if you're looking to get into horrors but don't wanna be scared. But it didn't leave me in the edge of my seat ever.

I usually enjoy Darcy's style quite a bit and this story is not the exception. I particularly enjoyed the depiction of the not alive characters on this book, I found it rather interesting. However, I have very low tolerance for stupid characters that have enough experience/knowledge to know better than to make critical mistakes and keep making excuses for people that are obviously trash just to add plot. Craven Manor gets 3.75 stars just because of that.
