Daniel's going for gold in the indecisive Olympics and, if not for the ending, I think he would've won gold.
Craven Manor is a bit entertaining but nothing special. The story is interesting, characters are good (Kyle really annoyed me though), and I overall liked the book.
One thing that I really liked was how it kept me going back and forth on who and what to believe. How the ghosts were portrayed I also found pretty cool and though it wasn’t that scary at all for me, the ending left me satisfied.

S označením královna hororu bych teda zas tak nespěchala. Po tvorbě Coates sáhnu, když mám chuť na nějakou oddechovku, která se dobře čte a to její knihy splňují. Pár jejich strašidelných domů mám už za sebou a tenhle se klasicky řadí mezi průměr. Příběh má v sobě pár logických děr jak plátek ementálu, ale s přivřením očí se nad tím dá mávnout rukou. Nadpřirozeno bylo trochu překombinované a mě docela mrzelo, že tady nebylo přítomné klišé gradující hrůzy, naopak - duchařská entita si tu nakráčí na scénu docela rychle a nějak s sebou zapomene vzít ten strašidelný prvek. Závěrečné vyústění bylo takové roztomilé.

Hm.. it's a nice story and an easy read, the main character is pretty likable (despite being a bit too kind and naive) and overall everything is quite nice. But it's a little to flat and straight forward for my taste. Not as atmospheric as I would like to have my haunted house novel. And it's pretty tame, not spooky at all, kinda more like a little fairytale, which is not negative per se, but yeah.. a bit more atmosphere would've been nice.
