If Terry Pratchett had grown up playing Warhammer instead of reading Gormenghast, he might’ve written a book very like this.

This author is BRUTAL.
85% of this book is a HILARIOUS romp through a world where RPG rules and real world economics mix and mingle. Stereotypes are both subverted and upheld. It's a crazy-train of lighthearted good times and silly puns.
And then...shit gets real. And Pike writes the drama just as skillfully as he does the comedy. So, as hard as I laughed for the first 85%, I was furious or defeated or any other emotion Pike was trying to squeeze out of the audience for that ending.
Oh...and the ending...there's a post credit scene. Seriously. Read past the acknowledgements.
