This was so cute and sweet! The art style is absolutely adorable, and I loved how inclusive all the characters were and that it was done in such a natural way. I loved the character designs; I am most drawn to Minette and Greta's. The story was a bit simplistic (it moved quite fast because it was so short, and wasn't focused on any particular plot (which is fine) and we didn't get too much of a deep-dive on any one character (we got backstories on the three characters Greta meets, which were all quite emotional and well-portrayed, but there wasn't a in-depth exploration of any individual character)), but still heartwarming, and I will most likely continue and finish the series.

i've heard people talk about this book for ages and everything they said about it was really nice and sweet. and i can confirm too, this was super super super sweet <3
let me just start talking about the art because it is incredibly pretty and adorable. the little dragons are super cute, the color palette is gorgeous.
i remember i had also read about the characters being diverse so i really wasn't surprised to see the different skin tones they all have (and even a hijabi as an extra character <3) but what really surprised me was how one of the characters, erik, has a disability.
and, speaking of that, i love that one of the messages of the book is that even if you lose something, you can still make new memories with people who love and care about you. if you want to, you can always keep certain sides of yourself alive.
i really wish i could have read this book when i was younger, but right now, even though i like slice-of-life stories, im not a big fan of the "no plot just vibes" type of books

This was such a wonderful, adorable & heartwarming read! I adored everything about this book and can't wait to read the rest of the series!
This book follows Greta, an apprentice blacksmith learning the art from her mother a very skilled blacksmith. Greta is having trouble learning this skill and worries that she won't be good at it or she will let her mother down. Her mother tells her that blacksmithing might not be used so often anymore but it is a lost art and should be kept from getting forgotten. One day Greta finds a lost dragon in the city streets and returns it to its rightful owner, a man named Hesekiel. She learns that Hesekiel and his husband Erik are a part of a society that specializes in tea making. They brew tea from the leaves and flowers that grow on dragons and if brewed correctly they have wonderful magical effects when a person drinks it. Greta wants to learn the art of tea making and even meets another young girl named Minnette, a prophetess with memories she is trying to recover.
Even though this book was short it still was wonderful and charming. The illustrations were gorgeous and colorful. The story about finding your place in the world and surrounding yourself with people who love and support you is a great message to tell to young readers and all readers. The diversity was magnificent and perfectly subtle. They felt organic and natural not forced. The Tea Dragons themselves were so adorable and makes me want one of my very own to love and take care of!
Such a wonderful and beautiful story and am eagerly anticipating to read the rest of the series!
