I generally like second chance romances but this one had some issues for me. Too much inner dialogue and redundant "Oh my secret shame makes me live a half-life" got kind of old. And the Annoying Best Friend trope that is oh so common in romance drives me crazy. I hate it. I hate the Annoying Best Friend. Then there's Friend Zone Guy who exists only to threaten the hero about his intentions. This is the fourth book in this series and I think I'm done. Too much "woe is me" and too many weak plot devices.

God! These Sunder boys are doing a number on my heart. I am seriously in love with this series! Wait is another A.L. Jackson must read. My heart hurt for Austin in the previous Bleeding Stars books so I was more than eager to have his story. I was not disappointed. My goodness!! Wait is amazing! It very quickly became one of my favorite second chance romances. I had my kindle clutched in my hands with tears streaming down my face and I loved every second of it! Edie and Austin are perfection.

As I mentioned above, we first met Austin in the previous Bleeding Stars books. The quiet, troubled, younger brother of Sunder’s lead singer, Sebastian Stone, has had a tough time dealing with his heartbreaking past. So, he decided to leave everything he’s known to go find himself. He’s travelled for years, performing in small clubs and bars. Then one night he sees a person from his past. Edie Evans has been running from her own tragic dark past. A past she shares with Austin. With the boy who broke her heart back in her life, the pain she has been trying to escape is back in full force. But, their emotional reunion and their strong pull toward each other may be just what they need to heal.

I loved Edie and Austin! They’re so perfect together. They know what each other needs and they brought a sense of peace that they desperately needed! A.L. Jackson has the gift of making fictional character seem so real. Her words are so damn beautiful. This book, this series is not one you want to miss. So so SOOO good.

A.L. Jackson just has such a poetic style of writing, I can't help but feel exactly as the characters do. She drags me in from the very first page, and I'm left desperate for Austin and Edie to find happiness together. They deserve it! Another awesome read by A.L. Jackson.

First time reading anything from this author and I was not disappointed.
Poetic and emotional, Wait is a book about second chances in love. I absolutely loved the way the author brought her characters back together.
Austin and Edie are two lost souls, trying to find themselves. Edie is hiding a big secret that has forced her away from her only family, her brother.
Austin is the one person she trusted but he betrayed that trust. When they meet again, can they mend what is broken? Can Edie ever trust Austin again? Will their love prevail?
If you love this author and epic love stories then I highly recommend this one.
4 Stars

I wasn't such a fool that I didn't realize the two of us were messed up. Nothing but a mess of shattered, broken pieces that had been scattered and mixed together.
I could only pray together, somehow, this time, we could make them fit.

There are authors that write feel-good books, light-hearted reads that are guaranteed to lift you up and make you smile. Then, there are the other ones, the ones that take you to the depths, tossing you right into the eye of the storm where the characters dwell. In my experience, there aren't many authors that can write an 'angsty-as-heck, tear you all up, then piece you back together' book any better than A.L. Jackson. Every time I open one and begin it, I think, surely this time people won't be so broken. Surely there are some people that haven't suffered so much that you can feel it come right off the page. But no. Amy is nothing if not an expert at crafting these stories so beautifully, so artfully, that you can't wait to trek through the anguish right along with her characters, knowing that the trip will be so worthwhile and rewarding in the end.

WAIT is the fourth book in the Bleeding Stars series, and we finally, finally get Austin Stone's story. Austin has made an appearance in the prior books of the series, but here, in this book, is the heart of what has defined Austin. He's suffered for most of his life, carrying a burden of guilt that no one person should have to shoulder. He's beautifully broken, enduring his demons alone, until her. Until Edie. Carrying a shameful secret that will stay with her for years, she's a beacon to Austin, the other half of himself. Together they build a shelter against their painful pasts, protecting each other from the things that haunt them, until a devastating betrayal sends Edie running from everything they've created.

WAIT is beautifully written, full of the raw emotion that I've come to expect and love from Amy. My heart broke and was healed with Austin and Edie, sharing the loss and celebrating the love and healing right along with them. There really aren't enough stars for this book, and it is absolutely one of my favorite reads of 2016. I can't recommend this whole series enough, and I cannot wait for STAY, the next book to come. Please, add these to your TBR, because they are not to be missed.

I loved this book! It was so sad and my heart just breaks more and more for these characters. I was really looking forward to Austin's story and it didn't disappoint. What Eddie and Austin went through revealed so much of why the group is the way they are. The history of these characters made the story so utterly sad and sweet at the same time. These books just get better and better.

I've read other books by this author that I really enjoyed. She has a way with her writing that pulls you into the story and you experience every anguished emotions the characters do. This book fell a little short for me. I think that my state of mind is just in a different place that I couldn't enjoy the angst like I use to. I found myself skimming cause of all the angst in the story line. It was becoming tedious.

This is the first book in the series that I have read. I was able to follow along, but I did, at times feel that I may have missed out on something important in the books that had come before. It did not stop me from enjoying the book and I did feel compelled to keep reading.

The author's writing is somewhat poetic and at times you feel as if you are reading something written in verse. This was a great use of words when conveying certain emotions and thoughts from each of the characters which really gives the reader insight into their internal thoughts and feelings.

I enjoyed both the main characters of Edie & Austin. At times though, I felt like Edie was a coward that blamed her actions on Austin. She took the easy way out and ran instead of facing her fears head on. I loved Austin and felt for him in so many ways. The torment that he dealt with on a daily basis inside his own head was excrutiating!

The ending was totally worth it and it was kind of explosive! So much happens all at one shot! I loved the way the author wrapped things up and even had given us a cute prologue to show what happens with these two in the future.

I really enjoyed this book and am in the process of looking into books 1-3, I would love to see more of AL Jackson's writing and more of the characters that she has created!
