Oh my, Tate Oooooooder! I just couldn't get enough of these two. They were funny, frustrating, sexy and heart warming! This one took me on an emotional roller-coaster. I definitely had some hangover symptoms after. Loved!

The best one so far, much better than the other one. For once I could relate to the heroine and did not yell at her

There is one thing that I have to put out there before I begin the review I haven't read the first 2 books I hadn't noticed that this was the 3rd until I looked it up. I just never paid attention to that part till now, so I am sorry for that I wish I had read the first 2 before reading this one.
The book included really amazing details and was also well written. In this book you will read and learn about Audrey's life how she went from a horrible breakup that she thought she would never get over, to finding someone that actually respected her and treated her like a princess. I was glad she picked herself up after Levi broke up with her there wasn't any reason to keep him around anyways so she should have broken up with him herself instead of being insulted and mistreated when he called her that night. Not only was that worse but he had broken up with her the same day of her sister's Bachlorette party knowing that her sister is marrying a wonderful guy that treats Fallon a thousand times better than how Levi treated her. All she could do was wish that maybe someday she would find her own Lucas. What she hadn't noticed was that someone saw her come in after Levi ended the phone call, the same person that comes up and catches her eye at first glance, not only that but the pick up lines actually worked. Tate one of the sweetest guys she's ever met who just might help her forget about Levi.
I truly adore Fallon she was so quirky and silly her character was the one that made me laugh the most. I felt a huge connection with Audrey especially because we want the whole deal meet a drop dead gorgeous guy, get married and have a happily ever after and It still hasn't happened which infuriates me and her also.
The book made me so emotional there were those parts where I almost broke down in tears especially the part of Fallon's wedding it sounded extremely beautiful. Lucas sounded like the perfect husband/dad he was just wonderful. Despite not having read the other books I truly enjoyed this one it was really amazing, kind of like how I feel once I finish Nicholas Sparks book's, which I have loved all the ones I've read! Every second of reading this book was totally worth it I fell in love with it more and more. There's nothing better than romance I love romance books so much. So my 5/5 star rating is worth it.

I'm honestly beginning to think this author hates women. 😅 Audrey was so insufferable for the first half of this book that I ended up hate reading most of this. Yet again, the mmc Tate completely saved this from a DNF. At this point, I feel like none of these women deserve these incredible men.

Audrey Parker is in love with a man who treats her with no value, he is every wrong choice she could make, but she loves him. After another disastrous interaction with her hook-up, he refuses to label a toss in the hay, she imbibes in a one night stand, no names, no baggage, just a night of passion. She wishes she could forget that night, but it replays often in her dreams and with the growing realization her current relationship is hindering her she breaks loose.

Hockey player Tate Odder can’t forget the girl he spent one night with, he felt it in his bones it was meant to be something more. Having lost everyone important to him, the young man is lonely and looking for someone to spend his life with. When he realizes his neighbor Audrey is none other than the one that got away, he formulates a plan to be patient until he can capture her heart.

Well the big shocker wasn't much of a shock because I read the books out of order.

Audrey cried ALL THE TIME. I found her character unbelievable. She was alternately portrayed as a confident sassy woman, a needy woman with low self-esteem and a liberated woman.

Having been, and being in her predicament I found her angst unrealistic and the consequent miracle was a total cop-out.

Other than those niggles this was a fun romance with another Assassins player.

2.5 out of 5 stars. In the beginning (and middle of this novel) Audrey was jumping on my last nerve. After she decided to get on with her life, the story started getting better. The ending though...that was something and I dug the cliff hanger. I think the next Toni Aleo book I read will be the one about Piper and then I'll go back to Falling for the Backup.

I was really looking forward to this one, especially since it's rated so high. But I'm tired of all the heroines basically being the same character, but with a different coating. I started with Piper and Erik's story, out of order. But I liked it enough to go back and start with #1 properly. This one has been dnf shelved, stopped at almost half way through.

The same ladies in every book....
Spoiler
Elli difficult to like at first. In the end, after I learned about her weight issues and body dysmorphia, I totally got why she was to /that level/ of self-consciousness, it was justified. But then I unknowingly go onward to the next book....

Next is Fallon who also complains (a lot) about her weight and looks...she loves pink and sparkly things. Her eyes is described as doe-eyed, her body is thicker than the average super model, she's got a nice ass. And now it's Audrey, who also suffers from serious self-esteem and body image issues. She's also got those big eyes and ass. Not surprisingly enough she also loves sparkly, pink things? Now I can't remember if Piper likes pink sparkly things.

Speaking of body image issues. I'm am SICK AND TIRED of reading all of these leading ladies in this series with them. All of them are super whiny about it, for at least 80% of the book. Why could there be a skinny heroine? With no sexy curves. Or one with an athletic body? Or how about one that /is/ thicker than the average super model but doesn't complain 24/7. When I'm investing time into reading a series like this, I'm expecting a myriad of heroines to lead the stories. With different issues and difficult backgrounds.

You won't find them in here. All of them are very self-conscious, to the point of wanting to recommend them a therapist. They all of CRAZY trust issues and literally blows a gasket over any incident.
