Short and sweet sci-fi romance

A quick and easy read which was low on angst. This is the first in a series where human women are transported to an alien planet and left there to fend for themselves, with the help of another alien they meet on the planet.

In this story, we meet Jane, an accountant, who wakes up naked and alone in a strange jungle on a distant planet. Soon, she meets Tarax, a captain in the Doturan army, who has also been kidnapped from his space ship and left naked on this alien planet. As they follow the map left in a bag for them and fight the elements for survival, they fall in love and in lust. Yay!

This was a short sci fi romance which I read in the space of a few hours in one evening. As such, there's not a lot of character development or too many plot twists. It hit the spot though, and I'll be sure to check out the next installment in this series.

I enjoyed this book. I liked the characters and the romance. I’m always a sucker for the “we must cuddle for warmth/safety trope. The world-building and plot are fairly typical of a “stranded on a primitive planet” book.

That setup isn’t my favorite, but it’d been a while since I read one so I figured I’d give it a shot. The fact that I got annoyed with the trope half-way through isn’t the author’s fault! I walked into this one with my eyes wide open! So Personal Rating: 4 stars; Objective Rating: 5 stars.

Quite boring.

The female lead needed help with everything. She's not even wary of Taraxan and instantly takes to him. Even her reaction to being stranded on an alien planet was unrealistic.

No interesting bits of added dose of sci-fiction and lots of unnecessary sex without building up to the scenes.

Not my cup of tea but if you want a short, alien romance series where the book ends with HEA, this one's for you.

cute and short

The entire time I was reading this I was waiting for the reveal that it was like The Truman Show or maybe more to the point Naked and Afraid.

This was a really cute quick read. I enjoyed the characters and the story. The set up was a really interesting one and the love between Jane and Tarax was everything I wanted it to be. Now I just need to find a cute little monkey-cat like Mr Tiddles.
