I preferred it when the animals were at the forefront, the human storylines interested less so.

Sorta reminded me of Grant Morrison's 'We3', for I guess obvious reasons.

Felt like essential reading after Gideon Falls - some really nice ideas throughout, absolutely love Sorrentino's artwork.

This is a super quick read, but managed to grab my attention. Heartbreaking alternate history of the space race
where the dog and two monkeys are taken by something. They're gifted with intelligence and try to make their way back home. Able fears Earth since his experiences with humanity have been horrible, but Laika tries to get back to their human, who is equally trying to get them back to her. The ending hit me in the feels, and the actual alien presence was left open ended.

I don't understand why the doctor was shot instead of the woman when he was surrendering and she was continuing to do things. It seemed like an odd plot point to ensure her survival and the message being sent out, but then she was just....allowed to leave? No consequences?

The artwork is phenomenal in a classically Sorrentino style.

Slowly paced, but I found the simple ending to be unexpectedly emotional, while showing the complete trust Lemire has for Sorrentino’s overwhelming full bleed abstractions to carry narrative payoff.
