This book is action packed. It’s fun. It’s critical. It’s exciting. It better have a sequel. For fans of fractured fairy tales from around the world...this is for you.

Magical, original, and compelling. The words that sum up this novel. It left me breathless. It left me wanting more. I can't even find the right words when describing this books to others. It leaves me wanting to express all my feelings toward what I just read but then when I actually try I just can't.

I had a difficult time getting into the story. I enjoyed the Bone witch trilogy a lot and was really hoping to enjoy this also. But it didn't hook me like i had expected. There's a lot of bickering with the young characters. Some parts felt forced. Alex became a character i hated. Tala became super annoying. My favorite characters are probably Cole and Zoe. And maybe Ryker. I haven't decided on whether or not i want to read the next book, i don't want to be disappointed again.

Wow oh wow.

I wanted to like Wicked As You Wish but it honestly took me forever in a day to get into it. It also didn't help that I would rather do ANYTHING else than read it some days. Which just makes me so mad, frustrated and beyond sad because I was so freaking excited to dive into this.

Not going to lie, the cover and the synopsis definitely grabbed my attention. Yet, after diving into this book and meeting the characters I just got bored. Rather suddenly too. Nothing on the pages was really getting my attention and I just kept zoning in and out while reading. I then made it a game to get through a chapter or two but then I would get bored doing that as well.

It just didn't feel like I was actually reading anything anymore. Or at least paying attention - which is sad. So I put it down, walked away, and hoped that it would get better the next time I laid my eyes on it.

Spoiler alert: still bored.

Overall, I somehow made it to the end but I honestly couldn't tell you what happened throughout the entire book. Again, it was sad that I was just so freaking bored while reading this. Hopefully no one goes through what I went through.

DNF @ 37%. I rarely DNF books, but it felt like I need to do it for this one. I had an on-off connection with the plot and characters, and it's wasn't an easy one to deal with. I really wanted to love the book.

But don't get me wrong. I love the Filipino representation and the rich culture this book has shown. I'm not saying that I don't like it. Maybe I just have to pick it up again soon and try again.
