Update: Books 1-5 have been combined into a single box set. Audio is available on multiple platforms.

This is book 4 in the Nothing Special Series by A.E. Via. While each book covers a different couple - there are events and people introduced in earlier books that make these best enjoyed in order. This review may contain spoilers to earlier books.

This is great combo of “looking for love and forever” meets “never going to fall in love again”. While I found Michaels’ personality different from previous books, I like the way Via explained his disillusionment and defeat. Judge is a new character and I love these alpha/alpha pairings. Plus - there’s a dog!

Probably my favorite in this series so far. It would have been a 5 star read, if it weren't for all the police procedure fails, and a timeline that makes my head hurt. How long can one guy play college football?

I just wrapped up "Don't Judge," the fourth book in the Nothing Special series by A.E. Via, and I have to say, it's become one of my favorites in the series. The focus is on Judge, a seasoned bounty hunter who's shut off his heart after losing his ex-partner, and Michaels, an angry and solitary cop with his own set of issues. Their chemistry is off the charts, with a constant back-and-forth that's both frustrating and incredibly sexy.

Judge's closed-off demeanor clashes with Michaels' pride and playfulness, creating a dynamic that's captivating from the start. The journey they embark on to catch a fugitive is filled with bickering, sexy encounters, and a facade of not wanting anything serious. The slow realization of their feelings for each other adds a layer of intensity that kept me hooked.

The turning point occurs when Judge takes Michaels to check on his dying father. It's during this trip that they both begin to acknowledge the deeper connection between them. However, Judge, haunted by past losses, does something stupid—leaving Michaels and pushing him away. Michaels faces physical harm, and it takes Judge some time to come to his senses and beg for forgiveness.

The character development in this book is exceptional. Judge and Michaels both undergo significant growth, shedding their initial facades and revealing vulnerabilities. The chemistry, the banter, and the eventual coming together are beautifully executed. The book avoids some of the over-the-top elements present in the earlier installments, making it feel more grounded and real.

As I reflect on it, I initially rated this book four stars, but now I'm leaning towards a solid five stars. The chemistry, the character growth, and the overall journey made this a thoroughly enjoyable and engaging read. The six-month later epilogue provides a satisfying glimpse into the characters' futures, including Curtis and Genesis, as well as a heartwarming proposal from Day to God. "Don't Judge" is a definite highlight in the series for me.

Definitely my favorite from this series so far.
This books is fucking hot! Judge and Michael have the kind of chemistry that gets me all the time. The age gap, the enemies to lovers, the growling, the power and masculinity. Absolutely delicious read!! Kept me on edge waiting for them to get home safe. Love it
