Whew - that was steamy!

W-O-W! What a hot start to this series! I’m hooked! Here’s a quick recap and my two cents.

Quick recap:

Saige and her Gran live in a small town that’s mostly magical with a few humans. Saige owns a mostly magical store called The Mystical Pig.

Four men are sent to Saige’s little town in search of someone their boss is looking for. Once there, they all meet Saige and decide it’ll be good to spend more time with her in hopes she’ll lead them to the person they’re looking for.

My two cents:

Hot and steamy! Reverse harem (RH) novels are new to me. I’ve only read one before this. I’ve read several ménage books, but they aren’t the same. RH books are usually a completely new level of heat!

I enjoyed meeting all the characters. Kai is probably my favorite. He’s the jokester of the group and the most fun. He seems like the type who is the life of the party, but if you cross him, he’ll slit your throat.

Of course all the men are awesome in their own way. I can’t wait to see how Sloane grows throughout the series!

As I mentioned, the sex scenes are hot and steamy! Have some relief handy! There is both MM and FM and all other combinations, so if that isn’t your cup of tea, then this isn’t the right series for you.

I had a small issue with Saige being so surprised when the found out demons were real. If mages and witches are real, then why can’t demons, fairies, etc be real?

And why hasn’t she realized what that means about herself? Are these things not obvious when you’re living them? I’m not sure that’s realistic. All the clues are obviously there.

I’m excited to go read the next book! Definitely read this if you like RH fantasy books. Happy reading y’all!

DNF 48%. I have no time to read things I don't like and I didn't like this. Plot was predictable and I just couldn't get into the MC. I thought she was stupid. The way she acted was just dumb. I didn't like how every chapter was from a different point of view. This is a RH with 5 guys and the MC. I skimmed through several pages because it was so boring to me.

Was this book a little predictable? Yes. Did I absolutely love it? YES! I didn’t want to put this book down! This was the first reverse harem book I’ve ever read and I’m now completely obsessed. This book gave me everything I wanted- a curvy heroine, fantasy, romance, multiple love interests, spicy SPICE

So a lot of this book was very predictable. Like from the first page I was like oh... yeah that's the whole plot right there. But, that's not to say I didn't enjoy the ride.

This book was a fun read that I thoroughly enjoyed. Saige is a fun and feisty character with interesting powers. I love reading about a green witch! The guys are also interesting, and unique enough that the four don't all blend together as some harems tend to.

The book did end on a big cliff hanger that seemed like a bit of a hook to force you to read the sequel. Good thing the whole series is already published so no waiting for me!

Started out as a solid 3/5, I enjoyed our characters and getting to know them. I understood that there was going to be some set up as it is the first in a series.

The spicy scenes are

I didn't really go in with a lot of expectations but I still managed to be disappointed. The author seems to have a lot of faith in her own sense of humor which seems unjustified to me. The characters seem to laugh uproariously at the lamest of things which don't even elicit a smile in me, and the characters keep saying the heroine is sassy as if saying it over and over will make it true. Just couldn't get into it. The "mystery" was kind of obvious from the beginning and honestly, the plot couldn't interest me enough to continue on with the book, unfortunately.

I did kinda like the writing style aside from the crappy sense of humor. I wouldn't mind the dry jokes if the author wasn't trying to force it down our throats how funny she finds her own sense of humor. It was a total turn-off for me.

Chapter 8...that's all I'm gonna say.

If you like a little MM action on the side with your reverse harem, this one is for you!

The spice is great. The plot is good, predictable yes but fun. It kept me interested.

The banter is fun and light-hearted. I will definitely be continuing on with the series.

Have you ever picked up a book and knew immediately that it was going to be everything? Been apprehensive about reading it knowing that you can never read it for the first time again? That was this book for me. It's been on my TBR FOREVER. Sitting. Waiting. I didn't want to read it because I knew once I did, I wouldn't be able to do it again for the first time and I wanted to fully immerse myself in this story.

And boy, was I friggin right!
This was my first 5 ⭐ read of 2023.
Jumped right to the top of my favorite PNR series of all time.
Will forever be one of the books I wish I could read for the first time all over again.

A lot of reverse harem books end up focusing too much on the smut or the plot and the actual love story ends up being meh because there's so many people to balance all the different relationships developing.

This series is filled with spice and an incredible plot. It addresses so many traumas and the group goes through absolute hell. But the biggest theme in this series is love. Love between the men and love between each man and Saige.

It was swoony worthy and emotional and absolutely everything I knew I needed. I don't know how another series will compare to this one. Thank you Britt Andrews for giving me the perfect book series. I spent way too many hours detailing to my husband how this book hit all of the things I'm constantly missing in other books. Each situation developed perfectly, everything character arc completed just right. Absolute perfection ❤️
