Reading this now with my 7yo son, and we both love it! I can't believe I didn't read this as a child. Of course we all know the gist of the story, but right away in the first few pages, we were riveted by the writing...the description of the old pirate captain as he walks into the Admiral Benbow put him right in front of us, and we were hooked.
