An adventurous coming-of-age story.  Jim Hawkins finds a treasure map that belonged to a pirate Captain Flint and then journeys with his friends to an island to search for the treasure.  Along the way, they meet Captain Flint's former crew members, who are dangerous and also looking for the treasure.  A quick read.

read for class. actually read it not just wikipedia. muppet version is goated. SHIVER MY TIMBERS SHIVER MY SOUL YO HO DE HOOOOO

Fun swashbuckling book! You can see it's influence on the Pirates of the Caribbean (ride and movies). Although my favorite version is Muppet Treasure Island! The audiobook narrated by Neil Hunt was well done. I would highly recommend!

I enjoyed this one a bit more than some or the other literary classics I've read. Being written when it was there is some very outdated terms that readers will find offensive, but I think that can come the territory when tackling books of this age.

You know, after having engaged with and loved so many adaptations of this it was fun to finally get around to the original.

I really didn't like this book I though it was very dull. Most of the time I didn't quite understand what was going on. I think this had a lot to do with all of the boating terms. It did get better at the end although not much. This is not a book that I would ever read again.

Remember really hating this book
The main thing I remember is him randomly ending up falling asleep in an apple barrel
Seems like the author just needed some way to change up the plot

This wasn't my kind of book. I'm not really into pirate lore, so for the most part, I couldn't care what was going on. I would probably like an adaptation of this story better than actually reading it.
