I enjoyed this for the most part and liked the characters although related to the FMC a little less as she came across a little immature at times. The FMC is an artist, the MMC is a cop and it’s a friends to lovers romance in a small town with a generally cute dynamic. I also enjoyed the MMC’s backstory and felt his development was realistic. My surprise favourite character was
the grumpy gallery owner with a heart of gold the FMC works for
and I’d really like him to have his own book sometime. I enjoyed the will they-won’t they dynamic however the pacing of the book was off - the actual romance and ending felt rushed and packed into the last few chapters.

I loved every minute of Chevy & Val love story! Val has had the biggest crush on Chevy her whole life but Chevy is always been quick to friend zone Val. Although this was a slow burn it was definitely with the wait.

This is a small town best friends older brother romance that can be read alone or with the the rest of the ‘Love Stories in Sheet Cake’ (highly recommend reading the others).

Let me tell you Emma St.Clair knows how to write a book! She gives the book complexed characters that keep you coming back for more. I can’t wait until Colin’s story!

I was so excited to be able to review this new audiobook!! I hadn’t read the Pocket Pair yet, and I’ve loved everyone I’ve read from Emma St. Clair, so I jumped on it— and finished it in one day of cleaning!

Chevy and Val are the cutest little couple in a small town with lots of history, forbidden love because it’s Chevy’s sister’s bff, but they’ve always had secret feelings for one another!? Ah! They are adorably pining after one another and watching them connect was so satisfying.

3.5★ okay so this was good but not my favorite in the series by far. I really liked Val and Chevy as seperate characters and there were a couple swoony moments between the two but we spend most of the time in the will they/wont they tension and when they finally do I felt like we saw them in a relationship for maybe 4? chapters before they had a conflict and "broke up." I enjoyed the Chevy and James friendship, and this town of sheetcake is just a good time for me idk what it is but the vibes are vibing. The Pat and Lindy cameos made my life. I thought this was good but I needed more from them romantically.

Loved this 3rd installment of the Sheet Cake series! I am definitely a fan of contemporary standalone books that are connected. It was so fun to get to know Val and Chevy in the first two books and then finally get their story. It just adds so much more depth and love for the characters!

So many adorable moments and moments that had me laughing out loud. I loved Chevy’s nicknames for Val and the way he tries to take care of her.

I will definitely be eagerly awaiting more Sheet Cake stories!
