This book was eh and not really what I expected. When I pick up a book classified as a psychological thriller, I expect it to have actual plot twists, not just people sleeping with other people. Almost none of the characters, especially Catherine, are actually likable, and the plot is really whatever. I really only finished because we’re still in quarantine and honestly what else do I have to do? It wasn’t either worst book but it wasn’t that great

I feel like this book should have been titled "An Inconvenienced Karen". I really tried to care for this character. It just seemed like a bad Real Housewives Episode. It's basically some rich person's dirty laundry being exposed with little to no accountability. I mean, they could've made had the main character grow somehow but instead she went back to her old life. So.... no.. I would not recommend.

The characters in this book, in my opinion, are all horrible people. It was a quick yet curious read about too much wealth, I enjoyed eavesdropping on the selfish narrator. I felt like it wrapped up a bit quickly however I was ready to be done with these a-holes.

I absolutely loved this book and I absolutely despised this book. Why? I honestly don’t know. I guess you’ll have to read it to find out for yourself.

Awful. Boring. Hated all the characters. Predictable.

I should say that, despite my rating, the writing was fine overall and I finished it pretty quickly. However --

Spoiler
This ending really made me mad. The entire book was built up that I thought William was going to be one of the most vile sociopaths in existent. I didn't buy his motivations for coming back to marry Catherine. And at the end we are supposed to accept he's going away and they get a nice clean ending - he won't want to see his kid or hold that over her for money? It felt like the author had a page limit and once she hit it she said "wrap it up! that's it!"

One final thing -- I really REALLY thought that the kids taking violin lessons were being molested by William. Why spend SO MUCH time on how freaked out and uneasy Max is, only to find out that William was just too hard on him?

I was not attached or empathetic to the main character at all. It bugged me that she ended up with a pretty happy life and her sister just gives her $10 million. Must be nice.

I wasn't a hug fan of this book. It was a very slow build, and characters simply weren't interesting enough to keep me invested in the story.
