John Puller is basically a Jack Reacher knock off. The story was decent but some of his other books are a lot better.

Baldacci at his best! A good read, interesting and compelling characters...check it out!

I went back and picked up the first in the John Puller series, and it is excellent - a 'page turner' that was performed by the same two folks (male and female) who read the The Escape (third in Puller series).

Another great ride from Baldacci. I've got two more piled up waiting to be read this summer.

Baldacci introduces yet another protagonist who has a lot of potential to come back in a future book. Puller is an Army guy who is investigating a brutal murder in rural America and finds out that nothing about the murder makes sense. Teaming up with a local police officer, he tries to find out the significance of the murders. A high tempo thriller worth attention.

Not the best of his, not the worst, similar to one of the others with a remote issue that had to be tracked down with local help, characters engaging enough, but not hugely exciting!
mysterious tense fast-paced

Army Criminal Investigation Division veteran tries to solve a murder of a Pentagon officer’s murder and that of his family in rural West Va.

I was terribly disappointed in this book. It was ok but the ending was unacceptable.
