So I'll admit it. I didn't actually finish this book. I couldn't. I loved the first book in this series and was really excited to see where this story would go. But 75% of the way through and I just couldn't take it anymore. Charlie is so obnoxious I actually want to see her die. And not as a martyr, but as someone's dinner. Her "controlling take-charge personality" translates to her being a total bitch. I can't imagine a group of men who have worked together for decades suddenly bending to the new girl's every whim and spending their free-time guarding her like she's a queen. They would never let that spoiled brat boss them around and risk their lives just because she wants something. Sorry. I HAVE to be able to love the characters to love the book.... and I HATE Charlie. I would love to punch her in the face.

Charlie and her friends are in more danger than they imagined. When people start to find out about Charlie's blood, and the vampires start doing more horrible things, Charlie decides to take matters into her own hands.

However, Ryder, and the rest of the sexy six won't let her be alone while she does it. She's going to destroy the hive no matter what, but she must make sure her friends are safe first.

This book was interesting, but not as good as the first one. I really loved the first one better, there was a lot more to it.

This one had some drama, and relationship stuff with Ryder that was awesome. But, I felt like it was really lacking something that the first one had.

And this one also ended in a cliffhanger, but I'm super excited to read the next one and figure out what Charlie does next.

This is a very good paranormal series with a twist of Vampires that I adore.

I did not like this book I thought the writing was poor, and there was an over use of cussing. Would not recommend, was set up like there was going to be a lot of smut and then there wasn’t, it was just really weird. I did not get the vibe. Completely boring.

Closed door

Should've paid attention to the content warning, which doesn't include one for 'sexual scenes'. That's because there aren't any,it's all closed door. Some people will prefer that, but it's not what I expected. I need to go and reread the blurb because I'm sure it said something about needing more than one guy, and I had the idea it was a RH?
Otherwise, it's a great concept, and it's as well written as every other JE book, it's just not what I'm looking for right now.

So, I read this in a couple of hours and I have already one-clicked nr. 3.

The book picks up directly after book 1. Charlie and Ryder go on a date but are interrupted by some religious group. Ryder is worried everything is connected to Charlie's secret and decides she is to be protected by the enforcers. She also gets a new job instead of answering telephones: as rookie enforcer.

It is hard to describe the storyline. So much happened in this one book! Tessa made a stupid decision, the romance between Charlie and Ryder is heating up and there are many secrets discovered. I enjoyed it all.

I have just one big pet peeve about Charlie and that is her tendency to act a bit TSTL sometimes. She has a big heart - I get it - but her training and strength and experience can't even compare to the enforcers, so why does she keep throwing herself into danger or is she willing to do anything to 'save' people, even when it is clear it is not the best thing to do at that moment? When Ryder tells her do stay put, she is miffed ('who the hell did he think he was ordering me to do anything? He could be in danger out there. It was that thought more than any other that propelled me forward') and most times escapes barely. That really had me rolling my eyes. At those moments she really is a 21 year old with a high opinion of herself.

So, on to number 3!!

When the first book in a trilogy is awesome, one has high hopes for the following books, and this one definitely did NOT disappoint. We pretty much start right where the first book, Ash, leaves us. This book has a good build up, but it's pretty fast paces from the start, and it feels like the last 5 chapters or so just fly by because there is non stop action. There is some further development of Charlie as a character as well as the rest of the wolf pack that are the sexy six. As someone who loves vampire books, but is a little burned out on those creatures, this world and take on vampires is new and intriguing. I laughed and giggled at the interactions between the characters as well as Charlie's inner monologue. I flew through the book, enjoying every single word. Good work ladies!
