I loved the Prison Healer, but this one... This is a difficult review for me to write because The Gilded Cage was such a disappointment to me, compared to the first book.

My biggest problem was the FMC - the way she handled things and challenges. It was one of the rare occasions where I wanted her secrets to be unraveled and for her to suffer some consequences. I felt like I just needed to finish so I can get into the third book, and possibly get a better outcome.

On the plus, MMC has remained fantastic, along with other characters, so I'm keeping my hopes up for the third and final book.

honestly, just wow. i’m so glad my sister wanted to read the second book. the plot moves so fast, and the plot twists are SHOCKING. i have no idea how this is all going to wrap up in one final book, but that ending was CRAZY. still- i do wish this author spread out the twists to help move the book along, instead of rushing 10 twists in the last 2 chapters.
