Esta mujer va a acabar conmigo con estos finales.
En general he tenido las mismas sensaciones que con el primero. Me gusta la pluma de la autora, la trama y los personajes me tienen atrapada y el final me hace chillar.
La evolución de la protagonista me parece bastante coherente, sobretodo de cara al final, y era de esperar que los actos de la primera parte de libro acabaran teniendo consecuencias, así que en ese sentido, pues era lo que me imaginaba que iba a pasar.
Eso sí, en este libro salen bastantes secretos a la luz y algunos pueeees no me los esperaba, que queréis que os diga, algunos simplemente fueron un KHÉ y otros llegaron al ¿ME ESTÁS VACILANDO?

I think Lynette Noni is a fantastic storyteller and writer. This hasn't changed from the first to the second book in this series. I still adore Jaren and Caldon and find pretty much every character intriguing in one way or another.
However, the reason I am "only" giving this 3 stars is that I can't believe nor understand Kiva's loyalty to her family and the rebels.
You can't even claim that she's so close to her family that she does these things even though she knows they're wrong because they're not close. They don't know each other. There's no love and certainly no trust and honesty between them. So why would she feel any obligation to contribute to a cause she doesn't even believe in? It makes no sense, and unfortunately, gives this story a major plot hole.
I am on the edge of my seat for the third installment, ready to get the big conclusion to this epic story, but I have to admit that Kiva's stupidity and illogical loyalty to a family who's anything but a family to her really left a sour taste in my mouth.

A blind and dead person could figure out Zuleeka is evil. You don't need to be a genius to see it and still, Kiva acts like she somehow owes her some family loyalty. Why? Already in the first installment, she lamented that they only ever claimed to come for her but never did and still, she continued to be ready to join the rebels. Then she learns what family should actually look like from the Vallentis and still thinks she owes her family. The icing on this cake is when Kiva learns that Zuleeka could have gotten her out of prison but didn't, and still Kiva runs to her the very next day and shares the most valuable secret with her. I mean, at this point, I'm sorry but you're just an idiot and responsible for your own downfall. I really had trouble trying to root for her or find some sort of understanding for that.You can't even claim that she's so close to her family that she does these things even though she knows they're wrong because they're not close. Omg, hab ich das Buch beendet oder hat das Buch mich beendet?
Der Anfang war ein wenig zäh, aber sobald die Haupthandlung richtig an Fahrt aufgenommen hat, war kein Halten mehr. Ich nehme alles negative was ich je über Jaren gesagt habe zurück, er ist SOWAS VON husband material. Mittlerweile weiß ich auch nicht wie ich jemals Kivas und Naaris Beziehung zueinander besser finden konnte als Kivas und Jarens Beziehung.
Ich hoffe so sehr, dass Jaren irgendwie seine Magie wieder bekommt und es irgendeinen Weg gibt, wie er den Effekt rückgängig machen kann.
Eigentlich hatte ich mich gefreut, dass Mirryn und Kiva sich ein wenig angenähert hatten, aber dann steht Mirryn zusammen mit Zuleeka hinter all dem?
Das Ende hat mich total überrascht und ich weiß nicht wie das gerettet werden soll. Ich werde Band 3 auf jeden Fall so schnell wie möglich lesen! Abgesehen von dem langsamen Anfang war ich begeistert!

I am shook because WTAF was that?! Absolutely not! Those REVEALS. I can’t. It was like shock after shock throughout the back end of the novel.
I loved the growing friendship in this and the PLOT ooh so good. I really love Tor, hate Zuli ofc. I’m just so shocked rn and I have no words.
