Oh. My. Goodness! This book ROCKS! I'm floored by Gena's skill in world building and the absolute hotness of her characters!

*Fan scrams with giggles* OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG YOU GUYS!!! *Scrams some more* My heart just bloomed tenfold and I don’t know what to do with myself now! I loved this books so hard, Gena has done it again. So much hotness in one book your body is burning alone with the characters! Your heart aches, breaks and then get puts back together again! I heart Torin and Keeley together for everah! No joke. ^_^

Torin is one of those guys you read in other people’s book, he’s funny and witty but you don’t know much about him. So when you get your hands on his very own book, you think he’s going to be the same, right? WRONG! He’s a hot blooded male and any women sane enough will have their panties wet! He’s fierce, wicked and his possessiveness is beyond what the other men have done. Hell, makes you wish you could kill Keeley. Butttt sadly, we can’t but what we can do is scram with joy that he finally has the women of his dreams. Keeley is his queen and he was MADE to be a king. He was just waiting for the right women and she came along, knocking over everything he ever did to keep himself safe, screw safe, go on in and become her wet dream. I say! Plus, the holy hotness was so intense that when they finally had there moment, it was worth the drool hanging out of my mouth. Lol

And Hades, holyy mother of evil. That man, I wanted to kill him but then he did something amazing for Keeley and Torin, which I had to forgive him. (asshole). If you haven’t read the book yet, go to your store and pick up a copy today. You need to read it! I say it and you really do it. (As the red queen would say.) ^_^

ok so far the series has gotten better after the last last book i didn't like but the main guy character fucking annoyed me bro like he was kept on betraying my girl and rejecting her but going back to her and shit and being like no i can't do this again but he literally doesn't keep his word and ugh it's annoying like i get it bc he wants the girl safe and everything but i'm like just stop being horny and be fine w her company duh and the girl omg i love her she's a #girlboss but like she keeps on taking the guy back and i'm like i swear u can do better or get some good revenge yk pull some petty moves but oh well she's a good person or whatevs. the ending tho i was like eh like the solution to their whole problem made sense but it wasn't like shocking or anything that was like omg that ending blew my mind idk i feel like most of the endings have been kinda anticlimactic and i don't mind them i just want a happy ending but she still be doing the omg one of the characters died or almost died. idk maybe switch it up a little. anyways i love the side stories specifically one of them and i'm so upset it's not the next book but it's the next next book bc the chemistry between those two characters is just so mf good like imma speed read the next book that i don't really care much about to get to the next one. anyways giving this an 8/10 bc it was alright like it's in the middle of ranking this series like this would be one of the books i forget but kinda remember.

DNF-very very slim chance I'll pick this one back up.

Not going to rate this, don't feel like I read enough to rate it. Only read about 160 pages. I wish that I wanted to continue but either my reading tastes have changed or Showalter's writing has changed enough but I just didn't want to continue.

RATING: 3.5 stars

*This book was given to me by the publisher in exchange for my honest review**

It was slightly above an average read for me. This was the first book I've ever read by Gena Showalter and it's the eleventh book in a series. I wasn't aware of that when I given the book. With that being said, you can still read it as a standalone, but there is a bit of a backstory (with the secondary characters, as well as the main ones) that you will miss. It won't take away from the story being told, but having the background knowledge probably would have made the story a bit better.

Our main characters, Torin and Keeley, are honest a big lustful ball of foreplay. Torin is a fierce immortal warrior, who was cursed to host the demon called Disease. Bascially anyone he touches gets infected with sickness and death. That made for a very interesting premise for me, especially knowing that this was a paranormal romance. Keeley is the Red Queen, she's a powerful beauty warrior herself, that quite frankly, annoyed me to no end.

Torin and Keeley were on a mission to find a cure for Torin's predicament, as well as reunite with his friends. While the plot isn't original, it was very interesting. BUT the only thing that really kept me from enjoy the progression to the fullest was the first 100+ pages of fighting being used as foreplay between Torin and Keeley. It was cute intially, but it grew older and older as the story progressed. It just didn't feel like it needed to last that long. I was more interested in a lot of secondary characters, while this foreplay was happening. So it was a bit distracting. The bickering back and forth was another overused form of foreplay that, while dialogue is always key for me to really enjoy a book. I just felt like more could have been done with the chemistry between these two. I didn't feel it. Not at the beginning.

The world in the book is very vast. Very intricated. And sometimes very overwhelming, but there are appearance of characters that I'm familiar with in general, like Hades and Lucifer. I enjoyed learning about the world from this particular read, but it's also another one of those times where reading previous books would have come in handy.

So, in order for me to really get the most out of this read, I had to pay close attention to the characters. Torin's character was probably my favorite, but even he got on my nerves at times. He tended to be quite wishy-washy when it came to Keeley, and to some extent I understood. But around 70-80% through the book, I felt like it had gotten old.

The resolution of the plot was okay. Wasn't anything that surprised me, but it wasn't anything that I disliked. I do feel like it could have been solved in a shorter amount of pages (all of that fighting and bickering foreplay took up a lot of plot progression space).

I rated this story the way that I did BECAUSE I feel like there's potential for more. Plus I am intrigued and I would really like to go back and read more of the series to get to know more of the characters. Also, I loved the world, I just feel like I didn't get the most of it because I read book eleven before books one through ten.

For what it was, the book was good. But I have read similar books that I have done it slightly better. I do recommend the read, if for the fantastic world alone.

I am so happy Torin finally got his amazing happily ever after. And Keely is easily my favorite female in the series. I really felt like I was reading old LotU.

Es la única heroína de Showalter que me cae mal. Demasiado poderosa, puede hacer lo que sea que requiera la trama.
