Seriously one of the strongest characters I've read.

Emma is strong. She used to cut herself and she surrendered to the darkness, to the sweet nothingness. She thought that she was responsible for her mom's death. Yet, she keeps going. When her stepdad beats her, she doesn't cry, she fights back. She doesn't stop. She doesn't let her fears control her.

My biggest problem was that this book sorta dropped off around the middle. The ending was sweet, but I wasn't a fan. I think that if we only followed Emma's perspective, this book would have been a bit better.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. A very unique tale about shapeshifters.
