This was actually one of my favorites in the series. Even though I didn't get a lot of Tybalt time and I was annoyed about what happened to him and Jazz, I was happy that Toby didn't get beat and bloody through most of the book.

Ever since August was mentioned, I was curious about what happened to her and it was nice to see, but honestly if she is going to be in future books, I hope her attitude changes.

Another good read.

Oof. You know it is going to get dark when the book starts with a raucous bachelorette party that includes everyone and the sea witch getting along and having a grand time. This is solidly the best book of the series. McGuire does a fantastic job showing dynamic characters; both old characters showing new sides of themselves and previously referenced characters behaving up much differently than anticipated. Brilliant work.

I’m sure later I will regret going through these so quickly, butI am indulging myself with this series right now.

I keep expecting politeness, the first lesson. Excellent story, however.

I think Seanan's writing gets better and better with each successive book, and this one is no exception. I could not put the book down and plowed through the first 13 chapters before I realized what I had done. I hated setting the story aside to deal with real life! And of course, the problem with being all caught up in a series is that fact that you now have to wait for the next book. I suspect book twelve will be well worth the wait, though.

The October Daye series has always been a must read series for me and THE BRIGHTEST FELL reminded me why.

I can't really go too much into the plot for book eleven but I can say that just because you share blood, family isn't always on your side. We learn SO much about the relationship between Toby and her mother Amandine as well as what happened to her sister August. FINALLY! What a crazy ride THE BRIGHTEST FELL turned out to be. I now despise Amandine even more than I already did and August didn't fall far from the tree. She's going to be major trouble in the future.

Surprisingly, Toby has to team up with an enemy to save those she loves and that enemy becomes a needed ally at the end of the day. I was shocked to learn all we did about
SpoilerSimon
. I really missed Tybalt and Quentin in this installment though.

I have just one thing left to say, "Bring on the wedding, I'm ready!!"

Awesome

Really fricking kickass and awesome. I like Simon more than I did. I'm on the fence about August. 5 stars. Oh, and the novella about April was SUPER COOL.

This was fantastic, but the end broke me. I definitely have a better opinion of Simon than I did before. His character was developed a lot in this book. The pixies are so cool! I like them. I hate Amandine (not that that's new, but y'know, now I hate her even more) and I don't really like August. This book was better than the last two, which I didn't love as much. Like those two, I'd forgotten everything, so calling this a reread is a bit funny. I'm a little scared to read the next one after this one's ending. 4.5 stars. Oh, and the April novella was great!
