Not my favorite book in this series, but it was nice to get some more background on some of the characters in the novels.

This was fine, and I liked the plot twist at the end but this story is a great example of the Issues these guys have with writing female characters…

Back to the solid novellas! Really interesting dive into Amos and his start in life! For the first time ever I saw the “twist” coming a mile off

I was at first going to rate this a 3 star story, but a couple of things elevated it to 4 for me.
First, this novella serves as a great peek into the 'everyday life' for the more common denizens of the solar system, in this case Earth. While the bulk of the main books take place on a grand and epic scale that spans the cosmos, this brings it back down to ground level to see what life is like in a more common setting.
And second, there is a 'reveal' at the end that I kind of saw coming (well, more like questioned for a while), but when it happened at the end I did find myself being impressed with the result.
Good little bite between the main books.
