What did I just read?! Every book I’ve ever read by a Japanese author has been WILD lol this book was such a wild but fun read. I couldn’t put the book down.

This is an iterative narration. Every chapter is from a different POV. What was interesting is, I hated every single character even more than the last. None of these characters deserved to be happy lol BUT, I enjoy books where I have such visceral reactions to characters. I enjoyed this fast paced read.

Good novel of revenge, with lots of unexpected twists. This dark story about junior high students and their teachers is told in the first person by alternating characters (sometimes in a letter or diary entry), and although you do have to suspend your disbelief here and there, it works pretty well. You'll never trust 13-year olds again (not that I do anyway, especially the way I was at that age). It's the first novel by Minato, apparently written while a stay-at-home mom in between her chores. Impressive!
