I read this book in 2022, after loving the movie, and I appreciate how much depth it adds to it. It was one of the first second-hand books I bought, too!

Very different structure from most thriller novels. The chapters are very long, so that can make it drag a bit at the beginning, but there are a lot of bombshells that keep you gripped after chapter one. It’s definitely not a feel good novel, but shows the length a mother would go for her child.
