cute, cozy, all around very average though (not necessarily a bad thing but just veryyyy average)
i want to take the time to develop my thoughts for real but mostly the slow start and the dragging on of the “love potion” plot line were the downfalls. the whole story hinges on morgan assuming that she accidentally made a rly rare and difficult love potion. but also morgan’s main character flaw is a lot of doubt in her magical abilities. so tell me how she believes she’s good enough to accidentally create a love potion but also not good enough to do anything? idk it was just a little bit contradictory. additionally, morgan as a narrator was frustrating because of the complete lack of logical and rational thinking. like…. girl why are u assuming u made THE most long lasting and powerful love potion

I was really excited about this one because I love a witchy rom com! The start was really promising. I loved Morgan and found how much she liked Rory endearing. Fake dating is always a favorite so I was excited to see that as well. However, the second half of this book had so much miscommunication I got a little tired of it. That being said I really enjoyed the witchy town and the idea of spell casting champions to engage humans was interesting. I would recommend this one if the miscommunication trope doesn’t drive you up the wall or your ok with a bit of it for a cute witchy town!
I listened to the audiobook version of this title and really enjoyed it! It is single narrator but that didn’t bother me as it’s all from Morgan’s POV.

This book was very good but also it took over my entire anxiety lol I am a hot mess and I felt so bad for Morgan
I loved the beginning of this book, but the last 50% is just the miscommunication trope. I was so annoyed at the main character for it
This was a sweet witchy read. I enjoyed watching the relationship between Morgan and Rory develop from fake dating to more. I liked seeing them open up to each other and support one another. It was fun getting the witchy elements and seeing how each character utilized their powers.
I think what frustrated me about the story was just how little self-esteem Morgan has. How she believes she’s such a “hot mess” because she doesn’t do things certain ways. Some of the things she says just felt a little too much. And of course most of the drama could have been avoided with a simple conversation.
Overall, I enjoyed this book. But there were times when I felt the characters (mostly Morgan) needed to grow up a bit.

TALK TO HER!!! I cannot even tell you how many times I screamed this at the main character. Even though I pretty much figured out how this would end about halfway through, I ramped up the playback speed and finished this out of spite. I cannot stand miscommunication tropes, and that's all this book was. A giant and never-ending miscommunication. There were some cute parts, but between the lack of communication and the insta-love, I was annoyed by the time the credits rolled.
This book had such a sweet, funny, and cute first half! Morgan was such a loveable little dummy. And then the book flipped halfway through and she became a cruel idiot. Not only is this book filled with the miscommunication trope, but every time Morgan was about to reveal the truth and stop being an asshole, there was some small, stupid diversion. It became so hard to enjoy this book that had such a promising start.
