Although I don’t have a physical disability, my husband does. And much of what she experienced mirrored our own experiences as he recovered from an accident that eventually left him an amputee. Her connecting to writing mirrored my own coming into my connection to my art practice. Overall I found it honest and inspiring without being cloying or defeating.

This is a TED talk book, so for folks like me who are s l o w readers, it was a great sense of accomplishment to whip through it. Tells the author's own story of a failed surgery and her journey from star athlete to accepting her body as it now is.
