Just okay. Ladybug Girl's best friend has the coolest new toy in town, and Lulu is understandably excited to play with it. Finny, however, wants playtime to continue just like any other day...yet brought the new toy over? And then gets upset that Lulu keeps wanting to play with it?
And then it breaks, and they magically have a wrench, and that makes everything better so Lulu doesn't want to play with it anymore and leave the world's coolest toy in the woods for the rest of the day.

It's great that the Ladybug Girl series has introduced a black friend. The lesson of this book, though, isn't as well thought out as Bug Squad: in Bug Squad, Lulu sincerely apologises for the mistake she makes. In The Best Ever Playdate, Lulu denies having been more focused on the toy than her friend and doesn't apologise.

Not the best Ladybug Girl adventure. I think that the Rolly-Roo seems like a terribly unsafe idea for a toy. Kathryn enjoyed the book though, but I doubt we will be getting this one from the library again.
