This is a perfectly serviceable anthology of Christmas themed historical romances.
Tied together by a magically shortbread recipe these four stories all are all quite distinct from one another. They all move very quickly (they are short stories) which isn't personally my preference in romances so some couples were more believable then others.
My favourite was Tessa Dare's. It felt the most 'romcom' to me. I believed them falling for eachother, I liked her family.
My least favourite was the last story. I've never really dabbled in American golden age historical romances but this one didn't really appeal to me. The hero was overly pushy and quite unappealing to me. The lying made the consent seem dubious to me.
