I liked the book a lot. But... there is a certain pace imposed by its origins that has to be understood. The book came from Literotica, so it is chapter-based erotica. Which means there will, basically, be sex every chapter. And the plot gets to bend to accomodate that pacing.

This book was all smut and no substance, but in the best way? The entire basis of this story was a sex school where a girl goes to explore her desires and then finds herself falling for two men. It was pretty much smut in every chapter and very few moments of emotional connection, but somehow I'm still rooting for the relationship. I think the smut was pretty sexy, although there was a lot of focus on one particular thing that I don't particularly enjoy reading about, so that wasn't a win for me. Anyways, a spicy fun read and not much more!

I bought this quartet of books almost four years ago, so I felt it was time to get around to reading them. Venus School was a solid 3.5 stars for me, and I'm hoping the second book, [b:Venus Aspiring|50440842|Venus Aspiring (Venus Rising, #2)|Golden Angel|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1578965945l/50440842._SY75_.jpg|25102419], makes up for some of the elements that were lacking for me in this one.
Whilst I found all three MCs to be pleasant enough I just felt that we never really got to know them in any real depth. The reason for this, and my biggest issue with the book, was that a good 70 - 80% of it revolved around sex scenes. I expected a fair few of them, given the synopsis of the book, but the sheer volume of them meant many were superfluous and did nothing to move the story forward. They were there for titillation and erotic value only and ended up making the book feel a lot longer than it was. In the end, I found myself skipping a fair fewchapters sex scenes in my hunt for some actual plot.
I felt the sex scenes with Nick were unnecessary and they left a bad taste in my mouth. I really didn't want to read about OM/OW action, not when I'm meant to be convinced of the connection between Jessica, Chris and Justin. For me, they held no value and I have no idea what their purpose was within the story.
Despite that, the writing, the smattering of story that was to be found between all the sex and the ending were enough to convince me to continue with the series. Hopefully, the next book will have the plot and pace that was missing from this one.
PS - I'm glad this author no longer seems to use the term "his meat" quite so frequently. I kept picturing a guy waving a barbecued sausage around

It was porn without enough substance for me. And the way the sex was written wasn’t written the way i really enjoy, so i couldn’t get into it. It was fine, but didn’t do enough for me to finish it
A few things:
I will never look at the word "Juices" the same way.
It was interesting and new and it took my breath away every so often.
It is straight up

Pure erotica. A little too many sex scenes for me. Although it did make me giggle at certain times.
